Bespoke Murders
A DAZZLING SUCCESS IN SELF-PUBLISHING!
When a young Brazilian man is found murdered near The Volcan, a cultural center designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer in the city of Le Havre, Laura Claes finds herself at the heart of a series of murders, each one as gruesome as it is mysterious. The victim’s body is horribly mutilated castration, trepanation, and an unsettling, theatrical staging suggesting a killer of unseen cruelty.
Soon, more victims are found across the city: each subjected to unspeakable brutality, and all questioning or exploring their gender, sexuality, or a sense of difference. Each time, the murderer leaves his mark: a theatrical and ritualistic setup, forced sexual transformations.
Laura Claes, Jumet, Théo Bricart, and forensic scientists race against time. The serial killer seems to single out victims for their gender identity. Tension mounts as the fear is spreading in the local LGBTQ+ community. Gradually, the psychological portrait of the murderer emerges: he is obsessed with gender and stages his crimes like medical artworks.
