Valéry Giscard d’Estaing
Valéry Giscard d’Estaing was born in 1926. The youngest president of the French Republic from 1974 to 1981, he was elected member of the Académie Française in 2003 and since 2001, he has been the President of the European Convention.
A seasoned author, he has published 9 works of non-fiction, including the renowned Démocratie française. He wrote two novels including The Princess and the President in 2009, which sold over 50,000 copies in France.
